On August 20th, I took my daughter and koharu
for a day bus tour in Yamanashi-ken.
First we went to Ojirakawa-keikoku Valley.
koharu was excited at its beautiful blue stream
and white rocks.
Then we went to Akeno sunflower fields.
"Amazing !" koharu and her mother exclaimed.
Bees were gathering honey from flower to flower.
koharu was afraid of getting stung by a bee
and would not walk into the field.
She had no chance to be lost in the sunflower fields.
koharu said, "Sunflowers are smiling. aren't they? "
Her mother said to her, "Yes, they are smiling.
They make us happy, don't they?"
We went to Katsunuma, where we enjoyed picking
a bunch of grapes for each and peaches were served.
In Fujiyoshida, we picked one ear of corn for each.
A bunch of green soybeans, eda-mame, just pulled out
was given to each of us.
koharu's particular favorite was "Akeno Sunflower Fields."
That night koharu asked me to stay at her house.
koharu and I had a good sleep in koharu's bedroom.
Traveling in a night train was koharu's dream.
Her dream came true.
On August 6, she went to Kyushu with her father
---in a night train. She had a good sleep in her bed
in a night train, she said.
It took about 17 hours from Tokyo to Ohita.
koharu has a wonderful time with her grandparents in Kyushu.
Today her mother and brother are flying to Kyushu.
They all will come home on August 15.
I'll stay at koharu's house during their absence.
I'll take good care of their goldfish "Donald,
because he easily suffers from the heat.
