Here we are in 高野山!
A special guide showed us around
There were many tombs of famous samurai and many memorials
of famous people or companies.

It began to rain a little when we went to 高野山・金剛峯寺.
This was the last sight we visited.

We took the Hikari Super Express for Tokyo late in the evening.
We reached Tokyo Station too late at night and I stayed overnight
at M-san's house.
Thank you so much, M-san.
I had a very good time with you!

How happy I was to see blue skies!
Our sightseeing bus was running up along the longest
mountain highway in Japan,
for 高野山, which is located at the height of 900 meters.

熊野三山 consists of these three shrines
We paid homage at these three shrines.
There are many trails called
Next time I visit 熊野, I'd like to walk a rough path through
the forest.
Before going to the hotel in 白浜, we went to see 三段壁,
well-known place where many people commit suicide.
I felt very sad to hear that.

The hotel we stayed at that night was a very nice hotel.
All people working there gave us a hearty welcome.
Our room overlooked the ocean.
The dinner was delicious.
I had a good sleep.

We had a late lunch and visited

The shrine is now under repair.

Then we walked to 熊野那智大社, which is called

We got on our sightseeing bus to go to 熊野速玉大社,
which is also one of熊野三山.

(御神木「梛(なぎ)」it is 1000 years old.)

I had a good appetite the next morning.
I enjoyed a breakfast buffet viewing the ocean.

(our hotel)

We left the hotel at eight in the morning.
Our bus was running for 熊野古道.
Now we started to walk from here.

The first sight we visited the next day was
According to 日本書紀 it is the oldest shrine in Japan.

I was overwhelmed by the sacred rock.
We had lunch at a restaurant called

After lunch it began to rain but we went to 瀞峡(どろきょう),
which is a canyon with a river running through Wakayama,
Mie and Nara.
It was raining and I did not expect too much of boarding

But as the boat went on, I was excited with joy at high, steep
or huge rocks. Amazing!

Before going to Kushimoto, we visited
which is the southernmost part of Honshu.
(on the way from my bus window)

Here I am!

I was so tired that I had little appetite.
