Yesterday my friends and I went to the Suntory Museum of Art
at Tokyo Midtown in Akasaka.
I visited the museum last year but I was surprised to find
that I had completely forgotten how to go there.
I followed my younger friends, one of whom is a native Tokyoite.
We enjoyed the Treasures of the Fujita Museum in Osaka.

No cameras were allowed.
I hope you'll see what a good exhibition it is
if you visit the following web sites.

We had a very late lunch at a restaurant
named 酢重ダイニング六角.

We four ladies enjoyed talking a lot.
How nice to have a long talk!
I had such a wonderful time yesterday.
Thank you, my dear friends.
Thank you, AK-san, for inviting us
to the exhibition.

koharu, my granddaughter, has been very busy
since she became a high school student.
She belongs to the brass band club and plays the oboe
as she used to in her junior high school days.
Her summer holidays will be over on August 26.
She has had few summer holidays, I should say.
She did and does go to school almost every day
to attend the brass band club activity.
Has she finished her homework? I’m afraid not.
Today koharu's brother, a college student, flew
to England to study English at university for a month.
This is his first experience to stay and study abroad.
He stays at a private room at the college dormitory.
My daughter, their mother, has been busy writing
several term papers which she has to submit by the end
of August.
I'm glad she seems to be enjoying her university life.
Her summer holidays start on September 1.
My daughter's husband is always busy at work.
He works hard to support his family.
Thanks to him,
all his family are enjoying
their busy days.

It was not so hot today.
What a relief!
It was a good day for doing the wash,
for we had low humidity.
I enjoyed walking in the neighborhood.
I was surprised I was enjoying the sunshine.
Is autumn approaching?
I'm afraid not.
We should watch where those powerful
typhoons,No.15 and No.16, are moving.
According to the weather forecast,
we'll have cool days for a week or so
here in Tokyo.
Will we have those extremely hot days
again?
I am prepared for the worst.

HK-san is always busy taking care
of her old parents at home.
Yesterday she wrote to me an email saying
hat she had prepared lunch for her parents
and that she'd like to have lunch with me.
We had lunch at Saizeriya nearby
and enjoyed talking.
After that I took her to my apartment
and we talked and talked.
She worries what things are coming to.
Her old parents are sometimes mentally confused.
HK-san has always to keep an eye on them.
Nursing care at home (在宅介護)is
mentally and physically tough.
We promised to see again next week.

Yesterday, I went to a farmer's stand
to buy some vegetables.
I made a long detour to enjoy
walking along Tamagawa-josui.
I walked very slowly in the shade of trees.

It was a very hot day yesterday
but I didn't mind it at all.
I felt happy when I looked up the blue sky.

I walked 10967 steps in a day.
I'm thankful that I am okay.

How's it going, my friends?
Are you okay?
I don't know how to escape this blistering heat.
How did I spend this week?
On Sunday I enjoyed soba-lunch with my friends
at a restaurant nearby.

On Monday I bought soda pop for my grandchildren.
In the afternoon I enjoyed studying English with my friends.
On Tuesday I had a call from one of my good old friends.
We promised to meet in October.
I received an air mail from Anne who has been my pen pal
since I was 13. She has been ill. I was glad to know
she was good enough to write to me.
I received an email from Roberta-san, whom I met
in Kawaguchiko last September.
We have been good friends since then.
She writes in her mail it's very hot in Italy too.
The temperature stands from 35-40℃!
On Wednesday koharu, my granddaughter, went to a village
in Gumma to join her Brass Band Club lodging for practice.
She will be back this evening.
I hope she is all right--in good health.
On Thursday I offered a silent prayer for the dead
at 8:15 a.m.
Then I went to my beauty shop and had my hair cut and dyed.
In the afternoon I worked as a volunteer waitress.
On Friday I had intended to go back to Niigata
for a week or so.
But I decided to go back next month
when it is cooler than now.
And I am watching high school baseball games at 甲子園 on TV.
How strong the players are
both physically and mentally!

Last evening my friends and I met
in front of Kodaira Station to enjoy 灯りまつり
held in あじさい公園.

We had a light meal at a coffee shop nearby.
I had an egg-salad sandwich and a cup of tea.
It was very good!

Then we walked to あじさい公園.
There were a lot of paper lanterns
made by elementary students.

It was very hot and we were all in a sweat.
But we had a very good evening
walking around the park
decorated brightly with paper lanterns.
