On the way back
from my daughter's house,
I stopped to watch the sky.
It was around 5:00
but the sky was still blue.
The days are getting longer.
I saw beautiful yellow flowers too.
I stopped again
and took some photos of them.
A gentleman came to me and said,
“Oh, ビヨウヤナギ are in beautiful bloom.
I'd like to take photos of them too.”
The blue sky and ビヨウヤナギ
made me so happy.
By the way,
in Marc Chagall's religious pictures
Red means Love,
Blue means Life
Yellow means Hope.
Oh, how excited I was
when I visited his museum
in Nice, France!

A week has passed
since I enjoyed artistic glass crafts.
Time flies quickly
but my daily life moves slowly.
I'm sorry I get tired easily.
I'm sorry my eyesight is getting weaker.
I'm sorry my ears are always ringing.
I'm sorry I can't go hiking.
I'm sorry I can't travel abroad.
But I am happy to have
きょういく(今日行く)
and きょうよう(今日用)
each day.
I walk to my daughter's house twice a day—
in the morning and in the evening.
I don't see any of her family members.
I always miss them.
My daughter's son graduated
from university this spring
and started working for a company.
My daughter's daughter koharu
is a preparatory school student.
My daughter is studying astrophysics
at a graduate school 大学院.
She really enjoys studying physics.
My daughter's husband works hard
to support his family.
I often go to the community café
and enjoy talking to the neighbors.
I listen to the English radio programs
and practice English aloud.
I belong to Friday English Class
and enjoy English conversation.
On Wednesdays, we, four ladies, get
together and study English grammar.
I usually walk 7000-9000 steps in a day.
I should say I'm enjoying my life.

The day before yesterday, on May 19,
Mrs. M and I went
to the Suntory Museum of Art
in Tokyo Midtown
and enjoyed the exhibition:
「ガレも愛した清朝皇帝のガラス」.

Two years ago, Mrs. M and I enjoyed
Emile Galle’s art glasswork,
so we were interested in 清朝皇帝のガラス
which Galle adored.
Every work was amazing,
which I can’t express in words.
We were allowed to take
the following pictures:

We had a very good time.
Thank you so much, Mrs. M.

In our Friday English class
we gave a little farewell party
for our American teacher, Ms. J.
Before the party
we studied English grammar.
Ms. J taught us English to the last minute.
Ms. J gave a big hug to each of us.
Ms. J was blinking away the tears.
Ms. J wrote “Adventure Awaits”
on the blackboard.
Ms. J said,
“Let's say SEE YOU LATER,
instead of GOOD-BYE.”
I shall never forget you, Ms. J.
See you later, Ms. J.

It's Mother's Day and I'd like to say
‘thank you’ to my only daughter.
You've been so kind-hearted
since your childhood.
You've been my best partner in my life.
You've been my best friend in my life.
I couldn't have lived so far
without you, Daughter.
Thank you for everything, Daughter.
You are my life.

How happy I am to have a lovely day
after cold rainy days!
All plants look happy too.

Today I attended our first
Friday English Class in May.
Our teacher asked us
how we had enjoyed the “Golden Week.”
Most of us had nothing particular to say.
We spent the Golden Week as usual.
None of us are employed
and every day is a holiday for us.
Anyway, we enjoyed talking in English.
By the way, our teacher said she had sent
her property to California.
I hope she will find a good work
for a living in California.
We are giving a little farewell party
for her next Friday.
We'll miss her so much.

It's May 4 today.
Today is called みどりの日,
Greenery Day.
In the morning I went to see
my daughter.
She was studying at home.
In the afternoon I felt very good
and walked to Koganei Park.
Oh, what a lovely day!
A blue sky with white clouds!
Early summer greenery!
I feel fully alive now.
I walked 13365 steps in a day.
