This is one of my favorite flowers
Four o'clock, オシロイバナ in Japanese.
I guess you all know this flower.
オシロイバナ has rural beauty, doesn't it?
How I long for the days gone by,
when koharu and I took out おしろい
from the seeds of オシロイバナ!
koharu, my granddaughter, was 3 years old
and I was 60!
Do you see オシロイバナ in Sapporo, koharu?

How are you, everybody?
I hope you are all good.
As for me, the problem is--
that I am not getting enough sleep,
that I have a little appetite,
that I I'm constantly worrying about something
and that I feel very lonely and uneasy
when I am in the apartment alone.
I know I must admit I'm getting old.
But I'm sure I'll soon be all right.

By the way, I read in the radio English textbook
that the following slogans 3S were coined by
Andrew Cuomo, Governor of the state of New York.
★Stay Home
★Stop the Spread
★Save lives.
How about 3Cs? By WHO?
★Closed spaces with poor ventilation
★Crowded places with many people nearby
★Close-contact setting such as close-range conversations
I know the important thing is
that we should keep
these slogans 3S and 3Cs.

The community café, 100-yen café,
for the elderly people reopened on July 1st
according to the following rules:
★You must not move 5 tables and 12 chairs
in the room.
★You must always wear a mask.
★At the entrance you must disinfect your fingers
with rubbing alcohol.
★You can stay in the room for one hour.
★You can’t use the restroom in the café.
This afternoon, I went to the café for the first time
in 3 months.
I was expecting to see regulars.(常連客)
There were two volunteer waitresses----no customers!
Then a lady came in and we enjoyed talking for an hour.
I’m glad the community café reopened.
But I understand most elderly people are afraid of
catching coronavirus, so it will take quite a while
for the café to be filled.
